Skips are notoriously unattractive, but they’re an invaluable resource for the recycling and repurposing of residential and commercial waste. To celebrate over 20 years of offering skip hire in Bourne, here at BSH Recycling / Bourne Skip Hire, we have partnered with renowned local street artist Nathan ‘Nyces’ Murdoch to elevate some of our skips, turning them into important pieces of community art.
The purpose of the ‘Skip Art’ campaign is to highlight impactful messages that resonate with the local Bourne community, whilst actively supporting local charities and sports & community groups.
One of the first skip shaped canvases has been created for Bourne’s mental health charity, Don’t Lose Hope.
Don’t Lose Hope stands as a vital resource for anyone facing mental health challenges in Bourne. Their dedicated team offer confidential counselling services and valuable community support. Founded on the principle of fostering hope and resilience, the charity provides professional support tailored to individual needs..
Beyond individual counselling for adults and children alike, Don’t Lose Hope builds a supportive community through regular workshops and support groups hosted at their cafe and community shed. These safe spaces create opportunities for shared experiences, mutual understanding, and the development of positive coping mechanisms.
Through our skip hire services in Bourne, we’re proud to have supported this incredible charity for many years now. Dom Brister from Don’t Lose Hope talks about this project and the ongoing support that we give them
“BSH have supported Don’t Lose Hope since our very first skip when we cleared the old bank to build the community cafe and first set of counselling rooms. They continued when we developed the community garden, the gift shop and more recently with the new counselling spaces. Their support and dedication highlights their commitment to a community approach which is hugely appreciated.”
Chris Seggie, Managing Director of BSH Recycling says of the project “The local community in Bourne has supported us throughout our business journey and we’re very passionate about giving back in any way that we can. Our skips make the ideal canvas for our community artwork campaign in partnership with Nathan’Nyces’ Murdoch. As a local artist, Nathan was the natural choice, sharing our commitment to serving the local community and building a positive future for the next generation.”
The Don’t Lose Hope skip is just the start of a wider community project that will see a new branded skip launched every quarter. To find out more about Don’t Lose Hope and their amazing work, visit their website at http://www.dontlosehope.co.uk
