Skips are notoriously unattractive, but they’re an invaluable resource for the recycling and repurposing of residential and commercial waste. At BSH Recycling we have partnered with renowned Peterborough street artist Nathan ‘Nyces’ Murdoch to elevate some of our skips, turning them into important pieces of community art.
The purpose of the ‘Skip Art’ campaign is to highlight impactful messages that resonate with the local Peterborough community, whilst actively supporting local charities and sports & community groups.
One of the first skip shaped canvases has been created for Peterborough’s, Little Miracles Charity.
Little Miracles is a charity that supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. They provide a non-judgemental environment where they use their holistic approach to support the needs of the whole family. They specialise in providing advice, guidance, support, activities, training and safe places to any family that has a child with an additional need, disability or life-limiting condition. This includes providing support before they are diagnosed and from birth to 25
Through our skip hire services in Peterborough, we’re proud to have supported this incredible charity for many years now. Sophia Wakeman from Little Miracles says of the project, “We are really appreciative of BSH Recycling putting the Little Miracles message on a skip. I went down to witness Nathan from Street Art Hire design and spray paint it; it was rather incredible to watch him in action. It was amazing to meet the BSH Recycling team and learn more about their commitment to the community”
Chris Seggie, Managing Director of BSH Recycling says of the project “The local community in Peterborough has supported us throughout our business journey and we’re very passionate about giving back in any way that we can. Our skips make the ideal canvas for our community artwork campaign in partnership with Nathan’Nyces’ Murdoch. As a local artist, Nathan was the natural choice, sharing our commitment to serving the local community and building a positive future for the next generation.”
The Little Miracles skip is just the start of a wider community project that will see a new branded skip launched every quarter. To find out more about Little Miracles and their amazing work, visit their website at https://www.littlemiraclescharity.org.uk/
