Formed in 2002 by Chris Seggie (Managing Director) and his father Norman, BSH Recycling have grown from a single vehicle operation to the complete solution we are today with Grabs, Tippers, ROROs and Refuse vehicles.
After 13 years of operation from its sole site in Bourne, Lincolnshire; BSH Recycling opened its sister depot within Peterborough in mid 2015. Both sites are registered waste transfer stations, enabling BSH Recycling to process waste material, recycling where possible to deliver industry leading landfill diversion rates.
I have been in the waste and recycling business since I was 24 years old. During those years, I have seen many cycles of ups and downs, navigating challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing to build a resilient, forward-looking company.
In 2002 when my father and I started the business, I could never have envisaged that it would grow to the scale it has today as we celebrate our 24th year in business. This success has only been possible through the support and dedication of our fantastic team, with every single person playing a vital role. We now employ over 60 people across our two sites in Bourne, Lincolnshire and Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
We have achieved our growth through offering great customer service and continually investing in our operating centres, infrastructure, plant, and machinery. Opening our second depot in Peterborough in 2015 allowed us to meet high demand and streamline our operations. To further improve efficiency, we have recently constructed a brand-new materials recycling building at our Peterborough depot.
Times have changed, and we no longer send waste to landfill; all of our residual waste is diverted to Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) or Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF). To ensure full oversight and reliability, we have added our own Walking Floor transport to our fleet, keeping us in complete control of our waste disposal process. Furthermore, operational enhancements at our Bourne Depot, including our Waste Storage Building, allow us to load articulated walking floor trailers indoors, keeping materials dry and significantly improving our environmental impact.

As BSH has expanded, so has our commitment to quality, environmental care, and health and safety. We are proud to hold ISO certifications in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, an outstanding achievement for our organisation.
We are equally committed to excellence on the road. We now operate a modern fleet of 35 vehicles, backed by continuous investment in cleaner, state-of-the-art HGVs. Our recent upgrades include introducing two drawbar skip trailers to increase fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, we actively maintain standards under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) to demonstrate exemplary levels of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
