We are a family firm, started in Bourne in 2002, and we have been emptying bins in Peterborough for years. In 2021 alone we emptied over 50,000 commercial bins across the region. There is no rental charge for the bins. You pay for the collections, on a frequency we agree up front, and that frequency can change if your needs change. A pub that gets busy over summer can move to weekly collections then drop back. We would rather adjust the schedule than have you paying to empty half full bins.
Since February 2026 we run a cardboard only policy on our recycling collections. Cardboard goes in its own bin, gets hand sorted at our depots and is 100% recycled. Cleaner material streams mean better recycling rates, and that generally works out cheaper for you than mixed loads.
Two legal points catch businesses out, so worth stating plainly.
First, every business must have a waste transfer arrangement with a licensed carrier. A trade premises cannot put commercial waste in household bins or take it to the household tip. You also need duty of care documentation to prove your waste was handled properly. We provide the duty of care certificate free as part of the service, no extra charge.
Second, the recycling rules tightened in March 2025. Workplaces in England now have to separate food waste, paper and card, and other dry recyclables from general waste. Plenty of smaller Peterborough businesses are still catching up with this. If you are running everything into one general waste bin, you are likely out of step with the regulations and probably paying more than you need to anyway, because mixed general waste is the most expensive stream to dispose of.

Customers use this in a few ways. Some need it for waste KPIs and environmental reporting, which is increasingly a requirement when tendering for contracts. Some use it to spot waste creep, like a site whose general waste keeps growing while recycling stays flat. And some just use it to check they are on the right bin sizes. Most waste firms cannot give you this data. We can, and it comes with the service.
Everything we collect in Peterborough comes back to our own registered waste transfer stations in Fengate and Bourne. Waste is hand sorted, recyclables are recovered, and across the business we divert up to 99.9% from landfill. Residual waste goes for RDF and SRF fuel rather than into the ground. That is worth comparing when you get quotes. Some collectors are brokers who subcontract the work and cannot tell you where your waste actually ends up. Setup is a 4 step process. We establish what you need, you complete the account form and contract, we confirm the collection schedule, then service starts as agreed. Contracts run 12 months with 3 months notice from the end of term, and the terms are in plain English before you sign anything.
