How long can I keep the skip for?

All skips are based on a 7 day hire unless otherwise arranged at the point of order. Longer hire periods are available and should be discussed with your call handler. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team on 01778 394044 for information.

What should I do if I want to keep the skip longer than 7 days?

Skip hire periods can be extended at an additional cost. If you wish to extend the hire of the skip, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team on 01778 394044 for assistance.

Can the skip go on the road?

Skips being placed on a public highway require a ‘Skip Permit’ from the local council. It is an offence to place a skip on the public highway without permission. Skip Permits are arranged by BSH Recycling, take 5 full working days to process and are at an additional cost to the hire of a skip.

How and when do I pay for the skip?

Services must be paid for at the point of hire, either by debit/credit card over the telephone or BACS payment. BSH Recycling DO NOT accept cash upon arrival.

How full can I load the skip?

The contents of the skip should not exceed the sides and should form a level load. This is in order to ensure the safe transportation of the load from site to depot. Any skips that do not comply will not be collected by our drivers and it will be the hirers responsibility to rectify the issue.

What time will my skip be delivered?

BSH Recycling deliver skips between 07.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday. For a more specific time of delivery, please make this request at the point of order (as this may affect your booking).

Can you drop the skip over my hedge/wall?

BSH Recycling drivers are trained professionals… upon arrival, drivers will identify the most suitable location to drop the skip. Drivers will only drop skips in locations which are safe and have the required access.

How wide does the access need to be?

You will need 11ft to allow our vehicles access. It will also need to be free from low hanging branches, power lines and manhole covers to prevent obstruction.

Can I move the skip to suit me?

No! Once the skip has been placed, it cannot be moved unless by a BSH Recycling Driver. Skips are sited in locations suitable for delivery and collection where damage will not be caused. If you move the skip, you may inadvertently move the skip into a position that it cannot be collected from.

How do I arrange collection of the skip?

All skips are booked for a 7-day hire (unless otherwise arranged at the point of order), however, if you need a collection sooner, don’t hesitate to call our team on 01778 394044 or email us at [email protected]

Where does the waste from the skip go?

BSH Recycling operates two Waste Transfer Stations which accepts all waste collected from the skip hire division. We have invested heavily in our processes, people and plant to ensure maximum recycling, recover and diversion from landfill rates. For more information, please see our ‘The Waste Journey’ page.

What size skip should I order?

The size of skip required always depends on the scale of your project and the volume of waste being disposed of. Please don’t hesitate to contact one of our experienced team on 01778 394044 for advice. Alternatively, please see our ‘Skip Sizes’ page, located under ‘Skip Hire’.

How long does it take for a skip to arrive after booking?

BSH Recycling offer same day/next day delivery services where possible however this may not be the case at all times. To find our earliest availability in your area, book a skip via our Online Booking Platform with 6 easy steps.
